Sale process for AEB has started again

As of today, AEB is once again up for sale. The municipality of Amsterdam is looking for a new owner after the Consumer and Market Authority did not approve the takeover by AVR in 2023. It marks another step on the road to a new owner. 

AEB Amsterdam is looking forward to working with a new owner. CEO Wim van Lieshout: "We are confident that with a new owner we will be able to successfully continue the path we have taken and that the interests of our customers, employees and all other parties involved in AEB will be taken into account. It gives direction and perspective for the future." 

The sale encompasses 100% of the shares in AEB Holding N.V.  Subsidiaires of AEB Holding N.V. It includes AEB Holding’s subsidiaries AEB Bio-energiecentrale B.V., which operates the biomass power plant, AEB Exploitatie B.V. (the waste-to-energy activities), as well as the 40% interest in Recycling Service Centrum B.V., which combines social work and recycling. 

M&A firm Axeco has been retained by the municipality of Amsterdam to organize the sale process. Interested parties can register their interest with Axeco by 17.00 (CET) on May 3, 2024 at project.square@axeco.nl.
