Change in reporting obligation for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

Change in reporting obligation for Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

As of 1 July 2025, the Decree on the Reporting of Commercial Waste and Hazardous Waste has been amended. This change affects companies that deliver waste to AEB Amsterdam.

Under the amended regulation, waste suppliers are required to indicate whether the waste they deliver contains Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). This obligation applies to both new and existing waste streams. AEB Amsterdam is also required to report waste streams containing SVHC to the competent environmental authority.

AEB Amsterdam has informed its customers about this change in a letter. The letter explains what the amendment entails, which information is required per waste stream and how this information can be submitted.

To support companies in meeting this obligation, national guidance has been developed, including explanations and practical examples.
